Which car, that is not offered in the United States should be sold in the United States.

For me, it's the Audi Rs4

They did sell Rs4s in the states, just not the Avant!
For me, the Lotus Carlton.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 20:54 |

But really the Twingo. It would sell.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:04 |

Perfect excuse for Renault to return to the states. They'll sell the shit out of them.

In general, MORE HATCHBACKS! I hate watching Top Gear and seeing all those great little cars that we will never get here. On another note I'd love an Ford RS200.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:05 |

I want it now!

I'd buy one
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:09 |

Yeah, hot hatches I think. Renault Megane Sport, would be some good competition for the St.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:09 |

Abarth Essesse! Cut the Abarth and just give us the "SS."

![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:13 |

B8 RS4. Because I think I could actually manage to get one (unlike the $100k+ RS6).
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:14 |

The Skyline in General would be a dream come true.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:16 |

Good luck! I hear that some test cars have been spotted.
I've got a lowly B7 A4, Audi makes great cars.

![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:26 |

It has to be the Clio V6
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:27 |

You hit the topic right on the head.
The A5 sport back would kill that Bmw thing
The Scirocco has always been a great want.
Rs6 wagon is self explanatory.

Need it! Somebody spotted one in Texas a few years ago.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:29 |

Haha, I'd like to drive one at some point. Great looking car.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:30 |

It really is, much better looking than the TT imo.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:35 |

I ain't even scared
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:35 |

I prefer the underpinnings of the Tt, with the styling of the Rcz. They are about equal to me.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:37 |

Any Tvr. Want it now.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:40 |

![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:52 |

For whatever reason it's always been at the top of my list of cars to import when legal
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:57 |

Same here, I've always liked the styling.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 21:59 |

It just has that je ne sais quoi for me, probably because its a completely bonkers hot hatch
![]() 03/17/2014 at 22:03 |

J'Aime Haha. I don't know what it is, but the reincarnation of the 5 turbo has always peaked my list.

BMW M135i
Even if it can't drive in a straight line (lol Clarkson on TG), I love the idea of RWD and hatchback practicality
![]() 03/17/2014 at 22:37 |
|
Oh, please give us the Scirocco, and the Scirocco .:R! Please!
![]() 03/17/2014 at 22:41 |

Great cars. Lots of Vag (giggle) parts in there. The Superb is a very nice looking car.
![]() 03/17/2014 at 23:00 |

M135i, basically the z3m coupe i really want, but more up to date and easier to live with

![]() 03/17/2014 at 23:19 |

That isn't a want. It's a need!!!!!

Diesel. Station wagon. Stick.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 00:54 |

![]() 03/18/2014 at 08:21 |

Ute!!! Want. There was a concept Pontiac Ute floating around a while ago.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 08:22 |

Yeah, The 1 series hatch in general should be brought over, for a slightly discounted price.
I feel that if Bmw brought the 1 series over in general, the price would automatically raise above the starting price in Europe.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 08:39 |
|
Agreed. I've always wanted a Brera!

Any Europeon Ford Escort (MK1 MK2 the Cosworth's),E30 evo's, GTR's, all Audi RS's, all Ford RS's

Citroen DS5. Perfect daily driver - great looks, killer interior.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 13:02 |

But they're still illegal.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 13:08 |
|
They can be legally imported, at which point modifications must be made to permit getting it registered. But it can (and has) been done.
http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/imp…
![]() 03/18/2014 at 14:03 |
|
Until then, they're just another reason for port authorities to seize and either auction it off or deport it.
And the only RI that could (emphasis could) legalize one is JK Tech - more than $30,000 to get it legalized. $20K for a Nissan, $30K to make it OBDII compliant and you're at more than $50K. I'm no importing genius, so I recommend turning to tyndago who knows more than me.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 14:29 |

So you guys fancy this kind of car? They are all the rage in Brazil.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 14:54 |

Diesel options for cars and trucks?
![]() 03/18/2014 at 22:57 |
|
I wish we got the 1 too, but im sure the low popularity would make the price balloon. And the fact that the A3 never had much of a success probably warrants BMW not bringing it over
![]() 03/18/2014 at 22:59 |
|
Agreed. The price, if not anything else would scare potential customers off.
That's why I think the I3 won't sell.
![]() 03/18/2014 at 23:26 |
|
Funnily enough, I nominate a Ford.
Enter the Aussies!
The Falcon XR6
And its utility cousin. RIP the Falcon wagon
![]() 03/19/2014 at 20:06 |

Yes there was. I was excited in Pontiac, for the first time in decades they had interesting cars (Solstice, GTO, G8 and the Ute).
![]() 03/19/2014 at 20:07 |
|
Same, Even the Saturn Astra gave me some sort of excitement. They were thinking outside the box, and bring us Europeans and Australians. They all were looking good to me, then when Pontiac and Saturn died, Chevrolet cut the badge engineering out almost completely.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 20:10 |
|
Yep, very sad. Right when I thought they finally figured it out.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 20:11 |
|
Yeah, they were luring me in. Then they killed it as fast as it started. The Chevrolet Captiva is the only badge engineered Euro. It's only avalible to fleets though.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 20:39 |
|
I drive one! (fleet).
Better than the Equinox it replaced... But not crazy for it.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 20:41 |
|
Same, Where I currently work there is a silver Captiva as a company car. It is mildly dreary. I am tempted to replace the Chevrolet badges with Opel badges though, Haha.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 20:50 |
|
Hmm, good idea. I would probably be the only person to notice... Too bad there is a huge company logo and a customer would probably phone it in to complain that we were importing foreign luxury cars...
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:13 |
|
Silly question (probably), but can you have one in the US without reggo, taxes, insurance, etc, and just have it for "off-road" use? (Track days, autoX, car shows, etc?)
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:21 |
|
There is a set of guidelines avalible here:
http://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-im…
To shorten it, the EPA has to approve.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:23 |

I drove a Scirocco while stationed in Germany.
Averaging 250km/h on the 63, it was SMOOTH AS SILK.
Looks were great — but but BUT the hatch was nigh unusable. Basically a vertical trunk.
ALSO parking was super stressful, downtown Frankfurt was essentially parking by feel. Which on a shared lease will grow a few grey hairs.
Here's my baby, I miss her already!!
As stupid as it may sound, it's the reason I DID NOT go with VW when I came back to the states. Because after that ownership, anything else here would be a disappointment. The speed limits stationed here on the east coast are laughable. 65 (110-ish km/h). If I had tried to go with a Golf R, I would be getting tickets left and right, and missing the TRUE capability of the car.... supercruising....
Although the plan backfired and I wound up with an Abarth. Which I am now dumping upgrades into. Whoops!
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:33 |
|
Even for a trailered, non-registered, track only car?!?
Batshit crazy, this country is. Overseas really spoiled me with the whole nice cars thing. And high fuel prices meant the commuters stayed on public transit, too.
I'm going off on tangents left and right... thanks for the link! Entertaining reading.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:34 |
|
DOUBLE POST: WTF, the US has a 25% TAX ON IMPORTED TRUCKS?!?!?
....I feel like I'm in Brazil trying to buy an iPhone.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:37 |
|
It honestly is. If we can allow highly toxic Chinese chemical laden products in, then why not the Gtr? Canada is much more lax about this type of thing
There have been Mexican Renault and Seat cars that have been sold south of the border and brought up here, but still registerd in Mexico. That could be one way possibly.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:38 |
|
Yeah, it's a little bit ridiculous. Only 2. Something percent on motorcycles though that's not as bad
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:41 |
|
It's definitely a less-practical and much sexier Golf/GTI. VWoA has been watering down all their models for North America, it's ridiculous... All VW's here have blank switches, we miss out on so many features. Still love my GTI though haha.
![]() 03/19/2014 at 21:46 |
|
OH MY GOD I'M READING THE CBP's GUIDE.... I could have bought it out and found a way to BRING IT BACK with me to the US... with a mil exemption!?!???!!!
AAAHHHHHH MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE

Next time... next time...
